Get Real
Recently I have started writing a diary, or what you might call a prayer journal, simply to keep track on what God is doing in my life.Amongst other things, I have discovered the value that comes from being real with God at the end of each day.
I have been so encouraged with the peace experienced from being honest with him about who he is, who I am, and what is going on in my life.
If you are struggling to give time each day to being in God's presence understand that it is a relationship God desires with you not a legalistic meeting. Yes it is a discipline, but look forward to spending time with your father and be real with him.
These beautiful verses capture the simple heart of what it is I am talking about:
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23-24)
